Watermelon Seeds&Summer is Here.

Cape May is a peninsula and island (divided by a narrow channel); the southern tip of the island is the southernmost point of the state of New Jersey,United States. It runs southwards from the New Jersey mainland, separating Delaware Bay from the Atlantic Ocean. The cape is named for Cornelius Jacobsen Mey, a Dutch explorer who was working for the Dutch East India Company.
The city of Cape May is located on the island (south of the peninsula) and home of the oldest seaside resort in America, with historical roots dating back to the 18th century. The entire city was designated as a National Historic Landmark on May 11, 1976, and many of the buildings throughout the town are original Victorian structures that have been maintained in pristine condition.
This past weekend I went to Cape May to visit friends that are moving away ! They’re in the Coast Guard and moving to Puerto Rico… so a last hurrah we had. Among going to bars, delicious breakfast places (Sweet Potato Pancakes with Apple Cinnamon Butter!! Side of Bacon of course) and watching Harry Potter… we went to the cute little town of Cape May and did some off base (aka coast guard base where they live) shopping and ice cream eating. I love little sea side towns like Cape May because I’m a beach bum and the colors of summer are so beautiful (I also favor Fall). Not to mention its a different pace, laid back, warm, breezy, sweet.
We had  orange creamsicle twist cones (Sadly I did not take a picture) and bought matching rings…
“Well behaved women rarely make history.” -Eleanor Roosevelt
Fitting for both of us, I believe, because of where we came from and our life styles of moving to your own beat.. no matter what other people think *cough* JUDGE *cough* we are very much rogue individuals. Or at least I’d like to think so…. (= Anyway I got to go on base, see the town and spend time with some really lovely people over really tasty food. For your enjoyment (and edu-ma-cay-shun) a closing picture of women who behaved badly.
                                            ** Cheers ! **
